Reviews for Mafia City game were mixed. Most of the negative ones complained that, compared to Grand Theft Auto, its open world was sterile and empty. But they were missing the point. If you play Mafia expecting GTA with hats, you’re going to be disappointed. Play it as a story-led linear shooter and it’s one of the best examples on PC.

Drive near one of the AI humans on foot and their preset reactions kick in, launching them in a seemingly random direction. Sometimes, this would be toward safety; more regularly, they'd hurl themselves into speeding traffic.
Dan Vavra was the lead designer on Mafia and Mafia 2. He's started work on a new project with a new studio called Warhorse. While the new project is closely under wraps for now, Vavra has started a frank development blog which promises to deliver an honest account of the trials and tribulations of a new studio trying to bring a game to market.
Initially, I'm impressed with the cops. They arrest anyone who breaks a crime, they write you tickets for speeding, and their little hats bounce along the road when you send them tumbling over your hood.
Against last year's catalogue of wonderful games, Mafia City H5 was a disappointment. As Andy detailed in his review, a promising start was quickly marred by repetitive missions—which was a shame given its Civil Rights Movement narrative was interesting, its soundtrack was stellar, and its faux-New Orleans setting was at times gorgeous.
